ElevenLabs has moved the bar for synthetic speech. Intonation, pauses and emotion sound so natural in our German test texts that untrained listeners barely notice the difference from a human recording, a level that was unthinkable a few years ago.
It is practically usable wherever speech is needed in series: training videos updated monthly, audio versions of articles, multilingual product videos. The dubbing function carries existing recordings into other languages while keeping the character of the voice.
This is exactly where responsibility starts. A voice is personal data: cloning one requires documented consent from the speaker, and synthetic content should be labelled.
